CF Sports support leaves Tynemouth bowled over

April 11th, 2008

Mar 12 2008 Evening Chronicle

TYNEMOUTH Cricket Club’s junior section has received a massive boost – thanks to an innovative partnership with Cricket Specialist CF Sports.

The North East Regional Premier League club deliver the Cricket Foundation’s Chance to Shine scheme in local schools through their club development manager Rebecca Ayton.

To aid the transition from school to club, CF Sports have agreed to provide junior players who become members of the club with a free club shirt.

They will also supply a range of club clothing and merchandise ranging from T-shirts to tracksuits to cricket bats and equipment.

In addition to the initial provision of shirts, CF Sports will give the club a further donation based on sales of club equipment.

Tynemouth chairman Russell Perry was delighted with the deal.

He said: “Our experience with Chance to Shine showed youngsters joining a cricket club felt much more at ease if they had the club shirts and this increases the chances of them staying on.

“Last year this placed quite a financial burden on the club’s junior finances.

“The deal with CF Sports eases the pressure and allows the club to provide an extended range of Tynemouth branded products to members and supporters at no cost to the club.”

Cricket Force 2008

March 31st, 2008

Members will recall the last three April’s have seen a fantastic response to an appeal for help to assist with the Cricketforce day. Members and friends spent the weekend painting fences, repairing and painting sight screens, painted the scorebox, repaired and painted seating as well as generally spring cleaning the whole pavilion. This effort saved the club a significant sum and got the season off to a great start.

This year we plan to repeat the exercise on Saturday and Sunday April 5th and 6th. The weekend will be especially looking for people to come and help with the final touches to the ground to prepare us for the season now almost upon us. There is lots of painting to be done and a number of other tasks that make the life of the club so much more pleasant. We would be delighted to see as many people there as we can. We are also running a bag pack at Marks and Spencer Silverlink store for over 16’s to raise funds for the club. If you can help either with the painting or the bag pack we would be particularly interested in hearing from you. Make your club a better place.

Make Cricketforce 2008 even better than last year.

If you can help with the bag pack please contact Paul Coates on 07895608336 or turn up at the ground on the days.
